How does the flat plan link to the contents page?
The flat plan is a map of the publication as it is being
produced. It shows where all articles and adverts are laid out, and in what
order. The content page is a list of the chapters and sections which tells the main
articles which will be featured in the flat plan.
How many different types or categories of content are there?
In my magazine there are 6 different types of categories
which are adverts, articles, letters, guides, posters and reviews.
Is this magazine mainly text based or image based, or is
there a fairly balance?
This magazine was mainly text based with a few pictures.
How does the “look”, style, layout, colour scheme,
typography, reflect the musical genre?
The style and layout of this magazine made it look very
formal. There was not much of a verity of colours which made it bland. The musical
genre was jazz style but more historical jazz. The type of audience would be
people studying music like teachers or students.
How does this task help you with understanding how to plan a
contents page in your own magazine?
This magazines contents page was very simple and basic which
may not attract readers to read it although it had all the information in it. I
will learn from this task to make a contents page which may reflect the flat
plan and make the contents pages more appealing and attractive.
